＜ステートメント＞

日本のカルチャーやアートに関心のある人の多いポートランドにて、

アニメ、ヒーロー、民芸、文様など、日本を思わせる表現を行う7名の作家を紹介します。

彼らはいわゆる王道の日本の表現とは異なる、独特の感覚を持ちあわせ、表現を続けています。

また同時開催として、刺繍アーティスト 二宮佐和子のポップアップショップをオープンします。

刺繍絵、ユーズドアイテムに刺繍をのせたファッションアイテムを、

西の海を意識した乾いたデザインで展開します。

まだ見ぬ日本人のDNA、精神、多様性を、どうぞお楽しみください。

＊NISHINOUMIKAJIROU - 西ノ海嘉治郎

第16代横綱。西の海を超えてポートランドへやって来た日本人の象徴として、

歴史上のリアルパーソンの名前をタイトルに起用。

＜statement＞

In Portland where there are many people interested in Japanese culture and art,

We introduce seven artists who express expressions reminiscent of Japan

such as animation, hero, folk art, pattern etc.

They have a unique feeling different from the Japanese expression

of the so-called royal road and continue expression.

As a simultaneous holding, we will open a pop-up shop by Sawako Ninomiya Embroidery Artist.

Embroidered pictures and fashion items with embroidered on used items,

It develops with a dry design conscious of the west sea (west coast).

Please enjoy the DNA, spirit and diversity of the Japanese who you have not seen yet.
